Role overview
We are looking for an AI Solutions Architect to lead the design and delivery of our AI strategy from foundational models to production-ready systems. You will be the first member of our AI team, responsible for building the architecture, selecting technologies, and shaping our roadmap for machine learning, data intelligence, and generative AI solutions. Over time, you will grow and lead a team to scale AI capabilities across our products.
Key responsibilities
AI System design & development
- Design, prototype, and deploy AI-driven solutions, including classifiers, indexers, recommendation systems, and generative AI applications.
- Architect scalable AI pipelines for data ingestion, model training, inference, and monitoring.
- Evaluate and integrate LLMs, vector databases, and embedding models for search and retrieval use cases.
- Develop APIs and microservices that integrate AI models with existing systems.
Strategic & technical leadership
- Define and implement the AI technology roadmap aligned with business goals.
- Lead model selection, fine-tuning, and deployment decisions for optimal performance and cost.
- Establish best practices for experimentation, evaluation, and reproducibility.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to identify and prioritise AI opportunities.
Team building & growth
- Hire and mentor a high-performing AI and data engineering team.
- Establish development standards and ensure technical excellence.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation in applied AI.
Governance & quality
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and ethical AI principles.
- Define metrics for model accuracy, latency, interpretability, and robustness.
- Oversee code quality, architecture, and documentation within the AI domain.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning, data science, or AI architecture.
- Proven experience deploying ML models or LLM-based systems into production.
- Strong background in programming (including data structures & algorithms).
- Proficiency with transformers, embeddings, vector databases.
- Experience with offline platforms (i.e. non-cloud/third parties) for AI workloads.
- Strong understanding of data pipelines, APIs, and scalable architecture.
Preferred
- Experience leading small teams or mentoring engineers.
- Knowledge of MLOps tools.
- Experience integrating AI systems with enterprise products.
- Familiarity with privacy, bias mitigation, and model explainability frameworks.
