Data privacy and data protection management (incl. DSAR tools)
DSAR software for data privacy & data protection management
PRECOGNIQ is a data privacy and data protection management platform that helps organisations automate Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), Subject Rights Requests (SRRs) and GDPR compliance workflows. With built-in data discovery, data mapping, identity verification, redaction and audit-ready reporting, PRECOGNIQ simplifies data privacy management while helping organisations comply with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other global privacy regulations.
What is DSAR?
Generally, a data subject access request (DSAR) is when a customer or employee (i.e. the ‘subject’) contacts your privacy team asking about what of their data your business is holding. So, you need to be able to tell them within a certain period and they can then ask for it to be left as is, adjusted or deleted.
What a DSAR is called, in English, in other major jurisdictions:
- UK and European Union (GDPR) – data subject access request
- Canada (PIPEDA) – access to personal information request
- Australia (Privacy Act 1988) – request for access to personal information
- Brazil (LGPD) – data subject access request
- Japan (APPI) – request for disclosure of retained personal data
- South Africa (POPIA) – request for access to personal information
- Singapore (PDPA) – access request
- New Zealand (Privacy Act 2020) – request for access to personal information
- India (DPDP Act 2023) – data principal rights request
- China (PIPL) – personal information rights request
DSAR tools increase efficiency and productivity
Automated compliance
When time is of the essence, you’ll be helping your business because PRECOGNIQ operationalises and automates DSAR, SRR etc. workflows and features customisable data request intake forms, dramatically reducing the cost and time associated with access requests.
Configurable dashboards
Self-serve data privacy tool
Another aspect is management. PRECOGNIQ’s easy-to-use data privacy platform features configurable dashboards with the ability to delegate tasks to teams and review in-process access request progress, giving you everything you need to manage subject rights requests all in one place.
Improve data access using data discovery
Automate data mapping
Knowing what data you hold, where and how long you can hold it, and having data access managed automatically is a huge step in taking control of your data and being able to find all the details of a data subject access request.
With PRECOGNIQ in place, you can run data mapping continuously and monitor for changes while seamlessly creating multi-jurisdictional records of processing activities (ROPA) and data protection impact assessments (DPIA).
Data protection regulation GDPR
General data protection
Data protection compliance concerning GDPR is a challenge for most businesses and being ready at the push of a button for regulatory audit can be a constant worry.
Not with PRECOGNIQ. With our automated data protection and data privacy solution in place you have a single-view portal to manage your GDPR compliance using end-to-end automated workflows. In doing so, you increase your data privacy team’s productivity, reduce risk and protect your brand.
DSAR tools: instant reporting
Generate reports instantly, enabling you to respond to regulatory audits quicker and easier than ever before.
Reduce manual processes
Fewer errors, better quality
Our DSAR tools automate much of the SRR and data subject access request (DSAR) data privacy processes. For you, this means fewer manual inputs, a reduction in errors and a much higher standard of output.
Article 30 GDPR and CCPA vs GDPR
Article 30 GDPR
GDPR’s Article 30 requires organisations to keep detailed records of their personal data processing activities. This means you need to be able to prove the purposes, categories, recipients, retention periods and security measures for the data you’re holding.
CCPA vs GDPR
The GDPR applies across the EU and focuses on broad data protection rights and lawful processing, while CCPA applies in California, emphasising consumer rights, transparency, and opt‑out of data selling.
